Social Sport on Campus

Multipurpose Court

The court is situated at the front of the Ourimbah campus right next to the Residence. Tennis, basketball, and netball can all be played on this court. The court is free to all university students and members of Campus Central. Non-members are welcome to hire the court. Sporting equipment can be borrowed from the Campus Central office. Bookings are recommended.

Volleyball & Soccer Games 

Games will soon be scheduled again for Semester 2 2011.

Spring Scramble Fun Run

The Spring Scramble is the campus’ annual fun run and is organised by Campus Central. The event is free and comprises of a 3km run or a 1.5km walk looping around Sohier Park. This year the Spring Scramble will be held at 2pm on Wednesday 14 September 20111. There are prizes for male and female runners, best sun protection hat, and biggest walking group from a club, society, or staff group and best hat.

Representative Sport off Campus

The Eastern University Games will be held 3 – 7 July 2011. Whether you are a University or TAFE student, you can represent Ourimbah Campus at the Games. Contact Campus Central early in Semester 1 to let us know your prefered sport. Team managers are required for each team attending the games. If we do not have enough students to form a team in your sport, you still have an opportunity to attend by trying out for a team through the Callaghan campus.

The Australian University Games will be held on the Gold Coast  25 – 30 September 2011. If you would like to participate please contact the SWAG Officer, swag@campuscentral.com.au

Fitness Programs on Campus

Campus Central has teamed up with NSW Sport and Recreation to provide affordable fitness and health programs on campus. SWAT Fitness including TRX and JAB Boxing programs are held outdoors, while Pilates programs are held indoors during semester.

Programs are discounted for Campus Central members and University of Newcastle students and usually run for 1 hour per week for 6 weeks.
